This course offers aspiring artists a foundational understanding of classical life drawing and oil painting, focusing on the human form. Participants will engage with various traditional mediums such as oil, ink, charcoal, and conte, learning essential techniques like gesture and contour drawing, accurate proportioning, and the application of light and shadow to create depth and realism.

Students will gain hands-on experience through weekly life model sessions, capturing dynamic poses and studying anatomical details. These sessions will be supplemented with anatomical references like casts and diagrams to enhance understanding. The curriculum also includes lessons on composition, perspective, and color theory, alongside regular critique sessions to refine skills and foster a critical artistic eye.
