Congratulations to our former long-term staff member Judith Hugo who was awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia for her contribution to the arts this week.
The Order of Australia recognises Australians who have demonstrated outstanding service or exceptional achievement, with Judith one of 86 Western Australians recognised in the general division this year.
During her 25-year career at NMTAFE prior to retiring in 2020, Judith was responsible for the art collection as well as organising exhibitions and artists in residence programs as our Art Curator.
Judith also did a huge amount of work outside of the college in the visual arts community having volunteered across a number of organisations including the Voluntary Gallery Guide at the Art Gallery of Western Australia and the Friends of Australian Rock Art.
Congratulations Judith, an extremely worthy recipient of the accolade.
