Scholarship FAQs

Can I get assistance to complete my application form? 

Yes, staff can support you to complete your scholarship application form if required, however the answers should be your own work with support only from staff members.   

You may want to consider contacting the Jobs & Skills Centres, Koolark – Centre for Aboriginal Students or Accessibility and Learning Support teams who may be able to offer further support. 

What are the terms, conditions, and eligibility for each scholarship? 

Terms, conditions and eligibility for each scholarship is clearly stated on the NMTAFE Scholarship page, WiNTT Scholarship page, within the Scholarship Application form, and on the scholarships eligibility criteria terms and conditions

Is there a hard copy form for students to complete? 

You are strongly encouraged to complete the online forms within the Scholarship or WiNTT Scholarship pages.

Who is judging panel for scholarships and how are they judged? 

Each scholarship category will be judged by a panel of up to three members comprised of staff selected by the General Manager, Training Services. 

The judging panels may comprise of Portfolio Directors, Heads of Program, Principal Lecturers, lecturers, and other staff members as required. 

Staff on the judging panels agree and award scholarships based on policy principles and the submitted application from the applicant. 

When are the scholarship winners announced and scholarship monies awarded? 

Applicants will be advised by email of the outcome after Friday 31 January 2024. 

Successful applicants will be issued funding shortly after their course census date. 

Should any issues arise with the your attendance, withdrawal, course transfer, or conduct issues, this may preclude awarding you the final payment or being considered for the scholarship. 

It is expected that the scholarship funding will be used for paying costs related to your study.  That may mean that the scholarship may fund your fees, purchasing textbooks, uniforms, tools, IT software/hardware, personal protective equipment or any specialised equipment. You will be responsible for paying all fees and costs. 

Can the online Scholarship Application form be saved? 

The online application forms for scholarships within the NMTAFE Scholarship webpage can’t be saved for later editing by the applicant. 

You should review the Scholarship Application form, consider your answers to the questions relevant to the Scholarship category you have selected, and submit the application form online in one sitting. 

Can the applicant apply for more than one scholarship? 

Yes, you can apply for more than one scholarship, however a separate form available on the NMTAFE Scholarship page and WiNTT Scholarship page will be required for each scholarship category applied for.
